#110: The Truth Is…

Facts Don’t Really Matter

It’s amazing what so many instant, live, on-demand media sources have done to our collective understanding. Or lack thereof.

Surely you have noticed how many different interpretations there are of the same event happening at the same time and in the same place.

If you haven’t noticed, then I urge you to think about the fact that facts can be viewed so differently. That’s because it’s a fact, I think, that few people understand facts.

A fact is a truth, something that has already happened or can be verified or proven to be the case. Like the truth, some facts are unpleasant, and will not change just because you don’t believe in them. A fact doesn’t care; a fact just is.

And that’s why facts don’t matter. Here’s what really matters. What you make of a fact and what you do with it.

In other words, what you think and do next.

Welcome to my side of the nonsense divide.
