Insight #110
This post has nothing to do with what we hear from politicians and business leaders. But maybe it has. And it has nothing to do with conspiracy spreaders, so-called influencers, and other blabbering self-proclaimed experts. Maybe it has. You decide. Or maybe you won’t bother. Which could be another reason facts no longer matter.
But still, you have to admit, it’s amazing what so many instant, live, on-demand media sources have done to our collective understanding. Or lack thereof.
Surely you have noticed how many interpretations there are of the same event happening at the same time and in the same place. If you haven’t noticed, then I urge you to think about the fact that we can view facts so differently.
That’s because it’s a fact, I think, that few people understand facts. A fact is a truth, something that has already happened. Or something that we can verify or prove to be the case.
Like the truth, some facts are unpleasant, and will not change just because you don’t believe in them. A fact doesn’t care. A fact just is. And that’s why facts don’t matter.
Here’s what really matters. What you think and do next. After you trip over an inconvenient fact.
Welcome to my side of the nonsense divide.
